I've Been Hexed!

Hexie Flowers

I know I should be working on UFOs, but I'm addicted to these little hexagon flowers now. Because my hands don't work as well as they once did, it's a pretty slow process for me. I can make one flower during a one-hour tv show. I have eight or seven (I forget) made, but I need more than 100 to make my table topper quilt.

I have always preferred hand work to sitting at the sewing machine. It's much more relaxing and doesn't hurt my back like long hours at the machine.

I'm going to sew the binding on the Charisma quilt today. I'm determined to keep working on my UFOs even though I have this wonderful new project that I can't wait to finish.

You have chosen lovely colors. Isn't red a cheerful color? I used to not like red in quilts but my color choices are slowly changing to more vibrant and cheerful colors.

Enjoy the peaceful and calming rite of making the hexes! Sandy Gail

Those are really cute. I try to do the same thing, keep my hands working as I watch TV. The table topper should be really pretty.

Hi Susan ~ I know what you mean...I seem to have so much to work on INSTEAD of the UFOs. But that's exactly why they ARE UFOs!! If I didn't have the accountability of your UFO Friday progress report, I could easily let my list keep on slipping. So I work some on new stuff (like the Palooza quilt along that's almost finished!) and old stuff (like the backstitching that just won't be over on this x-stitch!).

Your little hexies are very cute and I'm sure very relaxing.

Love the little hexy flowers and the fabrics you chose to use for them!

I hear you on how satisfying and relaxing hand stitching is and about how hard it is to stay focused on UFOs.

My hiccup this week was being drawn into the book "The Forgotten Garden" by Aussie writer Kate Morton. I finished it at 1am this morning and it's due back at the library day after tomorrow.

Hugs!

Oh how cute ... you have inspired me to get my hexies out tonight! I love yours and I have some of the same fabrics as you. I always do handwork when I am watching TV (if I am not reading blogs).
Hugs,
Donna

Very cute! I've thought about starting a hexie project but have resisted so far. I'm sure I'll do one some day.

Love the lil' hexagons! That's going to be so cheerful & pretty on the table! I also like to work on stuff while I watch tv! For me, it's crochet! Back in the day when my hands still 'worked', I made sooooo many granny square afghans that way! LOVE YOU and hope whatever you work on today will make you smile!
