A Skipper Lou Blue Mystery
I was enjoying an afternoon snack of granola yesterday when Skipper came into the sewing room to see what I was doing. Immediately he caught the scent of granola. I, just as immediately, closed the container of granola and hid it. But Skipper would not be dissuaded. He knew the goodies were somewhere and he meant to find them. He concentrated his search on the cutting table, where the container had been sitting until a short time before.
Pooey! Nothing but scissors blades and pencil lead.
The scent is getting stronger, but that doesn't look like a goodie.

Uh huh, she thinks she can fool me. She moved the cup.
Finally, when the cutting table gave up no more clues, Skip jumped into my lap and went for my mouth. Having seen where Skipper's tongue has spent a good deal of time, I wasn't having it in my mouth. So I relented, got out the container of granola, and gave my foxie pooch a few bites, being careful to pick out all the raisins. That satisfied him, and he went on his way.
END OF STORY
Now for the rabbit quilt top that I've been promising a photo of (of which I've been promising a photo, I mean). This is as far as I got at retreat. I've been considering borders ever since. I think I'm going to do a 2" green border all around, followed by a pieced border made from 2" squares (checkerboard) cut from all the fabrics in the quilt. At least that's the plan for now.

OMG I actually gasped out loud when I scrolled to the quilt top!!! GoRGEoUs doesn't even begin...
Bad, bad Skipper!! Mine are equally bad though and I won't let them lick my mouth either(although they sometimes get one over on me). I've learned not to leave a plate or glass unattended!!

Love the bunnies Susan - and I think your border ideas sound just right!
Skipper is obviously a very smart dog! Well he'd have to be, he came and found you, didn't he!

What a beautiful quilt. I love log cabin and the bunnies are beautiful. Was it a pattern or did you design it yourself?

That is too funny about your lil pooch. Glad mine just stand and sniff around. I don't ever have food in my sewing room. I think framing your gorgeous bunny quilt in either the green or blue border would look great, and I love the idea of using all the colors in the last border as well. It will look great, can't wait to see it all finished.

I was trying so hard not to laugh-snort when reading your story! Too cute! Reminds me of my cat when he thinks we are having mac'n'cheese! We can't hide from him!

Love, love your bunny quilt! I have the book with those patterns in it - gotta dig around and find it. Spring is a great time to make bunnies, eh? :)
LOL with your little dog story - mine was like yours, always found a way to the treats.

Little Skipper is such a cutie! Goldie is the first pet I have ever had that has no interest in people food. She loves to drink water from my glass though - yuck! Lids fix that problem.

Susan ~ The quilt is wonderful, and I think your idea of a border plus checkerboard would add delightfully to the whole effect. I love it!

That Skipper!! He's a hoot! Love, love, love that quilt. The colors are beautiful. If it were mine, I'd do a 2 inch inside border using the red (not sure of the color but it looks red) and then maybe a 6 inch outer border of the green. I would be afraid the checkerboard would detract from the beautiful log cabin blocks. Maybe outline quilt bunnies on the green border or bows since they're all wearing bows. Just a thought. You should be very proud of that quilt. It's a winner regardless of how you choose to border it. (I know, a dangling participle!!)

LOVE the bunny quilt, your handwork, the fabrics you chose, and the marvelous layout of the blocks. Well done! I look forward to seeing the finished top once you've made your final decision and have sewn it on.
Skipper is too cute in his diligent search! I have a screen door on my sewing room so the cats cannot get inside.
I also have a Laurel Burch mug on my cutting table with the same sorts of items in it.
AMIL and DS2 are fine following the car accident, just really sore from the seat belts and airbags and AMIL has major bruising because of her blood thinner med. Thanks for your concern and kind words!
Hugs!

The bunny quilt is the cutiest. Love it and your work looks amazing. I can't beleive it was on your UFO list.
Skipper sounds like my Gibby, but Gibby would want the whole container full. Still trying to get my home computer up and running for tomorrows UFO post, I missed last weeks.

I think that's my favorite quilt YET! It's HAPPY! And Skipper? Well, let's just say he's provided my entertainment for today 'cause I KNOW I'll grin every single time I think of him with his lil' cute investigative self! Where was Ms. Sophie during all his Sherlock Holmes activity? Probably lying comfortably nearby, shaking her head at her brother! LOL!
