It isn't completely busted. I'm going to take it to the long-arm quilter next week. Just don't feel like driving to Centerpoint today. After it's quilted, I'm going to bind it with the rainbow fabric (bias cut) and add a label. Then I'll deliver it to my church to be hung in the nursery.

BARBARA'S REPORT
The first three photos show UFOs that Barbara sent to Debra for her Women's Shelter quilt project. Remember that if you donate your UFOs or give them away to someone who will finish them, they count as busted.
Barbara finished the little quilt below and donated it to Ami Simms's Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.
Great work, Barbara. I know both Debra and Ami will appreciate your donations, as will the people they will serve.

Love the fabrics, the fabric placement, the embroidery, and the two-by-two designs on your Noah quilt! Well done! Can you just imagine the delight you'll bring to untold numbers of children, parents, grandparents, and other adults who see your Noah quilt in the church nursery area?!
Thank you for posting my progress and photos. Onward!
Hugs!

Hi Susan ~ great job on your Noah's Ark quilt. 30 years ago my baby room had a Noah's Ark theme, so when I saw your quilt blocks it really brought back some memories!
I had TWO FINISHES this week!!!! I have to take pictures so hopefully I can join the linky by this afternoon.

Your quilt is gorgeous what a wonderful gift for the nursery.
I posted my UFO progress this week, not nearly as impressive as most of yours but I got stuff done so I'm going to call it a minor win.
: )

The Noah's Ark quilt is so bright and beautiful! You did a wonderful job on it. I used to have some of that stripe fabric. It is such a great rainbow-like fabric that really goes with the ark theme. Barbara is really busting those UFO's! Great job Susan and Barbara.
The day that I finished my "Wheel of Mystery" quilt, I decided to make a string quilt like the Heart Strings quilts. I had never made one. The blocks are all made and on my design wall. I will start the quilt assembly today or tomorrow. I plan to quilt it on my sewing machine. It will just be used as a nap quilt. It was a no brainer after making the "Wheel of Mystery" with all that curved piecing. Keep on busting, ladies! I shall enjoy reading all about your efforts.

Don't have anything completely finish but putting forth a lot of effort. Love the Noah's Ark quilt, it will be so cute hanging in your Church nursery. I'm sure the children will love it and will remember for years.

Yep, your Noah's Ark quilt is a big hit! Makes me wish I knew how to embroider, but then I suppose I would never finish any quilts!
And way to go Barbara! Some day I would like to do a row quilt.
I have posted my first WIP finish and linked up! Susan, I don't think I would finish anything if I did not have this Little Green Quilter incentive!

I have a question. What is the difference between a bias cut binding and a regular cut binding. I was under the impression a bias cut was used on a scalloped edge and a regular cut was used on a straight edge but I'm reading where more people are using a bias cut. So I quess the question is why are you using a bias cut? Thanks
Marge

Marge, normally I would use an on-grain cut for my binding. It's much easier to work with unless you're working with curves. However, I want the stripes in my binding for this quilt to run diagonally. For that effect, I will have to cut the bias strips on the bias. Hope this explanation helps.

Your Noah's Ark quilt is so bright and beautiful and will be a wonderful addition to your church's nursery. Maybe the children will not only learn about God's grace and love, but inspire future quilters?! And Barbara's quilts are so very pretty. Thank you again for organizing this UFO Bust!

Well, Susan...I just haven't busted anything. Although I thought just getting into my sewing room and sewing and completing a couple of fresh projects that have been on my to-do list was worthwhile. :) I hope you have a great week!

Thanks for answering my question. I'm a self taught quilter and need all the help I can get.
Thanks Again
Marge

I'm really self taught too, Marge, although I did have my mom and her friends to watch when I was a child. They made quilts. That's how I learned to do everything I know how to do--either by watching Mama do it or be reading a book about it.

Your Noah's Ark quilt is totally fabulous. The kids will love looking at it and picking out all the animals. Just wonderful!
