Oh scrumptious beast
How fine thou art;
You fill our tummies,
You warm our hearts.
We love to eat you
All roasted and nice.
We return for seconds--
Sometimes twice.
You are delicious,
You barnyard boss,
With cornbread dressing
And cranberry sauce
We add some sides,
Like taters and beans,
A few desserts,
And other things
But you're the king
Of our Thanksgiving feast.
It's you we honor,
Oh scrumptious beast

Would you believe I found the two little turkey candles and pilgrim pair that were part of my Thanksgivings when I was a child? They're a little worse for the heat in my mother's breakfront and from the intervening decades, but they're out for the holiday!
