Have you all seen these fur collectors? You use them to get up pet hair from furniture. It works pretty good, although I think those sticky roller things work better.
I haven't had a pet fur problem with Sophie. She doesn't shed. She hardly ever loses a hair, even in the bath or hair brush.
But that Skipper is another story. Wherever he rests for a second or two, he leaves a carpet of hair. I keep the living room furniture covered with quilts that I can shake out. But the Skip likes to sleep in my bed, something else I've never had with Sophie. Every morning, I have lots of dog hair in my bed, and since I tend to be allergic to everything, I run this hair-baller over the sheets and covers every morning.
The first time Skipper saw me using it on the bed, he jumped up and tried to insinuate his little body under the contraption. It didn't take me long to figure out that he wanted me to roll him with it. So I did, and now I have to do it every time he's sees me using it.
Sophie and Skipper are growing to like their back yard more and more every day. At first they were very hesitant to check it out without me, but they venture out a little further every time they go out now.
Can you see them--just to the left and behind the bird feeder, under the little dogwood tree? This photo doesn't show even half of the fenced area. There's lots more. Jesse spent much of the day here yesterday clearing out some of the small trees and brush from the wooded area. It's looking more and more better.
I'm going to try to spend a little time in the sewing room today. After last week's retreat, I haven't sewn a stitch this week. Have a good day, everyone.

I do believe Skipper is smiling. I get such a kick out of seeing your happy pet and thinking how lucky he is that he found you. I think he is truly grateful and appreciative.

I love those pet hair thingies. They work really well. I like it better than the tollers because you have to keep changing the sticky stuff. Of course, the Dyson beats both, but I have been know to suck up shirts, tp rolls, my own clothes. Those babies are something.

We used to have a dog who lost so much hair that we'd have enough hair for a spare dog every couple of weeks. Or it seemed that way!
Skipper does seem very happy! It's odd that he'd shed so much with that short hair. Go figure.
What a great yard!!
I haven't sewn a stitch in the last week either so am intent on making another block today. Yes I can!
Hugs!

I loved the Skipper story. It's so wonderful when our pets remind us to be silly sometimes and play games with them. My cats have lots of favorite silly games like that. You may want to try a Furminator brush. Kind of pricy but really great for dogs that shed a lot.

Skipper hit the jackpot when he found you for his owner! I love these pet hair catchers! I use them for cat hair left here and there. I take mine apart when it is full, empty it and use it again :)
Give those babies a hug for me!
Hugs,
Donna

Skipper looks to be in a hypnotic state after using the hair collector on him. The fencing turned out beautiful...but that isn't a fenced yard...it's nearly a fenced city block where we live! Hope you had a fun few hours of sew time! Thank you again for hosting the retreat and posting my pictures last week. Pat Mc

Your back yard looks really great! And I can tell Miss Sophie & Lil' Skipper are learning to appreciate it! FREEDOM! (Within a certain range, of course!) Skipper is just so darned cute, Susan! That little face is priceless!
