What a day we had yesterday. The furniture truck arrived and commenced to unload my crated dining room furniture onto my lawn. Shortly thereafter, Daniel arrived and commenced to mount my new valance. Then here comes Jesse, ready to bring the new furniture in and assemble it.
"Where's your help?" I asked him. He took a good look at the big boxes on the lawn and decided that, yes, he might need some help. So he called his friend Robert, who arrived in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
The boys worked diligently for a couple of hours and had the new furniture inside, uncrated, and assembled. They did good--and it didn't cost me near $250. Plus I was much happier to pay them than some guy I didn't even know at a price that was skylandish. (That word is a cross between sky-high and outlandish.)
Although things are looking good, I'm not near ready to show photos of the entire living room/dining room yet. So you'll have to be content with these little sneak peaks.
Today, I have bigger fish to fry--or cakes to bake. I had planned to bake two pound cakes yesterday afternoon--one that I promised to our first WOW bake sale of the season, and one that I promised to help feed the pilgrims of Birmingham Walk to Emmaus #57 at Camp Chula Vista this weekend. But by the time all those guys got through with all that work in my house, I was too pooped to bake. So I've got to hurry up and get it done before 2:00 this afternoon.
Stay cool.

Oh, what a momentous, accomplishful (a made-up family word!), and successful day you had yesterday! Well done, girlfriend!!!! I can just imagine the smiles that come to your face and the whirlwind of ideas that come to your mind when you look into each of these wonderful rooms with the beautiful furniture in place at last ...
The sneak peeks look tantalizing and I love the bay window valance! I cannot wait to see the rooms when you have everything arranged to your liking!
Happy baking and you stay cool, too.
