Linda and Joe came to clean today. So in order to get out of their way, Sophie and I walked around outside for a while--until we got too hot. Sophie was running from one shade to another when we finally decided we'd had enough.
I carried my trusty Nikon and snapped a few shots a growing things. Barbara had asked to see the Radio Flyer, so here it is.
A little squirrel rests between the petunias below.
The azaleas are just beginning to bloom.
The dogwoods are just past peak.
The frog planter below, another junk pile rescue, is deteriorating.
This may be its last year of service.
Lots of these little wild irises have popped up through the pine straw.
These things fall by the thousands this time of year. I'm not sure if they come off oak trees or hickory trees. But they sure make a mess in the yard. And we always track them into the house too.

I talked with Joe about doing the rest of my painting for me. He has experience and seems to know what he's doing. He's going to give me an estimate when they come back in two weeks.

What a pretty yard you have and such lovely flowers! That wagon looks so sweet with it's petunias and little squirrel.
Does The Yellow House overlook a wooded property as it appears to do in the dogwood photo?
We also have the trees that dump those squiggly brown things all over the yard. It's so strange to look across the yard and see one fall. It happens so quickly it's almost an illusion, over by the time you blink to get a better view.
Love the whimsical touches you've added to the yard!
Hugs!

I love your yard. Everything seems to have a personality and/or memory. Don't let dear "frog" go. He's perfect. But what do I know? I'm the "Wind in the Willows" kinda gal.

Your home makes me think of "Gone with the Wind" - so pretty and dignified. But it has something - SEVERAL somethings, I should say - that GWTW didn't have. The Yellow House has darling touches of whimsy, a very approachable look, and - best of ALL - YOU AND SOPHIE! It also (thankfully) LACKS a few things found at Tara. At the Yellow House there is no wimpy Ashley (sputter, spit, YUCK) no drapes which would look hideous as clothing, and no one standing outside holding up a handful of dirt, spouting, "I'll never be hungry again!" I like the Yellow House a million times better! But frankly my dear, I bet YOU don't give a ... peach ice cream shake. BWAHAHAHAHA! I'm through being naughty on your blog now. Nighty-night, lil' Susan!

Such a pretty yard and pretty pictures, Susan. I sure enjoyed your walk with Sophie.
No flowers here yet. I have tulips that are about to bloom.
I hope things start to improve for you and your doctor visit. Maybe the blood tests will give you some answers. I may not always leave a message, but I think of you often and how you are doing.
Take Care Susan. I am glad you are getting someone else to paint. Painting is a lot of work.
Blessings,
~Tonya

What a pretty house you live in Susan - and it looks like spring is well underway. I'm glad you are enjoying it!! Over here it is trying a little to break through, but we're months behind you and still having the odd snow warning :(
