Celebrate Quilting

Bunnies

But first, look what I found at the local Thrift Store recently. I had gone in to look for pink sheets and found some pink striped ones. They're in the dryer right now. When I was checking out, the lady told me the knick-knacks were all half price, so I took another turn through the knick-knack section and found the bunnies. I think they're so cute. I'm going to get a pretty pot of flowers to set under them in my painted chair--just as soon as the threat of freezing temps is over (if it ever is).

I had a great St. Patrick's Day. As it turned out, Cracker Barrel was all out of CB&C, so I had delicious turnip greens, pintos, and corn muffins. Andy had catfish. I told her that was ok--we're southern Irish.

2010quilt All you quilters, don't forget that Saturday, March 20, is National Quilting Day. Be sure to celebrate. I plan to spend the day in the sewing room, getting the final piles put away so that I can use it again. Click on the link to find a free pattern for the quilt shown in the illustration at left.

And there's another way to celebrate quilting this week. You can do as I plan to do and join in Heidi's monthly Friday Night Sew-In tomorrow night. My plan is to finish the last two embroidered squares for the Noah's Ark quilt tomorrow night and maybe watch a good movie.

What are your plans for celebrating quilting this weekend?

I love your optimistic posts!!

This morning I made the label for my 18" St. Patrick's wall hanging so will sew it on tomorrow, will look into a quick Easter wall hanging made from a basket block I appliqued a few years ago plus an Easter egg fabric bought a decade ago, and I hope to start a quilt for DS1.

I'm still delighted to have learned of Pat Sloan's OP challenge last year from your mention of it. I have made 2 Halloween wall hangings from that pattern all thanks to you!

Love you bunnies!

Hugs!

Thanks so much for the link to that adorable quilt pattern Susan! I'll be starting the celebration for NQD a bit early, as I'm taking tomorrow off from work and spending the day at our local Quilt Show in Ft. Lauderdale ... "Quilting by the Sea;" and then hopefully Saturday will find me in my Sewing Room working on something scrumptious! Enjoy yours :)

My favorite meal at Cracker Barrel is a double order of greens, hashbrown casserole, the apple side (the name escapes me at the moment) and a muffin/biscuit combo (have to save the biscuits for the apples). YUM!!!

Love the bunnies, Susan. Your little chair display will be adorable. No worries of frost here anymore, it was 90 degrees today, oh boy.

We went to Cracker Barrel for lunch on St. Patrick's Day, and I got the last plate of CB&C. It was delicious. It would have been fun to meet you there.

Love your bunnies.

Thought I'd better comment while my head is vaguely cleared. I have a cursed virus & am alternately feeling terrible & semi-human. Right now, it's semi-human! I LOVE your bunnies! What a great find! I'm not celebrating quilting this weekend - well, at least not MY quilting or lack thereof - but I will enjoy YOUR quilting! LOVE YOU! (And, of COURSE, lil' Sophie!)

I love those bunnies! I think they are so cute that I'd have to find a permanent place for them, even when Easter is over!
