The Morning After

Feet My brain has a football hangover this morning. I don't seem to be able to get the hang of Mr. Linky, so I'm going to Plan B, which I don't have to figure out.

If you plan to take part in Silly Saturday, here's what to do. E-mail me at suscleve@aol.com with the link to your blog. Then when I post my silliness late tonight or in the morning, I will include links to the participating blogs. (Be sure to post your silly stuff on your blog by tomorrow morning too.) If you don't have a blog and want to play, e-mail me your photos or stories or whatever. OK, that sounds easier than figuring out a new widget on this frigidly freezingly ridiculously cold morning. Snow flurries and sub-zero wind chills.

While watching The Game of the Century last night (Roll Tide), I stitched on my latest monster block. I decided to leave everything as is with the lime feet and rickrack antennae. I think the black blanket stitch around the feet make them pop enough. Of course, with all the excitement of the game, I didn't do as great a job on the stitching as I might have. But it will suffice I think.

Here's a message to all you who were winners in the Dark and Stormy Night Contest. I haven't forgot you. I'm working on your little prizes, but am not finished. Blame that on Sophie Belle Patterpaw. Every time I go to the sewing room, she leaves me along for about 30 mintues; then she comes in and starts pacing the floor, staring at me, and pawing my leg. She will continue these shenanigans until I give up and come downstairs with her. I have fixed her a cozy bed in a chair beside my sewing table. But she eschews that bed with her little black nose turned up. She likes to lie on the back of the love seat, where she can see out the bay window and watch the goings-on in the 'hood. So, I ask for your patience in this matter, please.

Snowball squares I also need to get back to work on my snowball blocks too. That challenge deadline is sometime this month and I'm not even half finished. I might just have to bring my Featherweight down to the dining room and set up a makeshift sewing room there. That's the way I sewed for many years. I think I could do it again.

I finally got all the triangle squares trimmed to the proper size--all 480 of the little buggers.

Book Club was cancelled today because of the weather (Alabamians just can't take this kind of cold). We'll meet next Friday, weather permitting, to discuss the book Nancy Swimmer by Clyde Bolton. You can read a short review in my sidebar book list at left (as soon as I get it posted) with a link to Amazon for more info on it.

Make sure you stay nice and warm! I wanted to let you know I'm off of facebook for awhile in case you wondered where I went.

Roll Tide! I am so glad we won! At least you accomplished some sewing while the game was on! I sat here with my laptop looking at blogs. I am going to participate in Silly Saturday..will send you my link after while.

I was thinking that you might need a second place to sew & then I read your solution--would probably work!

Cold morning here but I think you're colder. Brrrrrrrr is right!

Your black stitches look perfect to me.

Since I sent you my silly pillow photos earlier this week, am I eligible to be entered?

Is there some piece of moveable, soft furniture that can be put in front of the window in your sewing room, thus making a cushy overlook for Miss Sophie? Would she be drawn to a flannel topper for said cushy seat?

Stay cozy!

Hugs!

It's mighty cold in NH but that's to be expected up here in January. As far as snowball quilts go, I too am way behind on mine. I'm kind of hoping that there's a prize for last finished which I will certainly win!
