First I want to thank everyone who commented on my "100 Things" post. I had no idea those nuggets of info would interest so many. It was a fun list to create, and I'm very glad so many of you found it fun to read. I suggest you try making your own 100 Things list.
Second I want to invite you to hop over to The Katillac Shack and see Blackberry Creek's own Miss Sophie Belle Patterpaw, along with some other doggies modeling their "Play Hard" scarves. And while you're there, please consider decorating a scarf for your own furry buddy. When you send Kelee a photo of your doggie wearing her/his decorated scarf you'll: get to see him/her featured at The Katillac Shack, help Oscar get his tail back, and (most important of all) help raise money for find homes for deserving doggies and kitties.
I got my copy of the July/August issue of Love of Quilting this morning. Not sure if it's on the newstand yet, but if you don't have a subscription I suggest you get one when they are. It's one of the best yet.
First of all, there's the cover quilt, "Granny's Stars"--which I HAVE to make!! Isn't it the prettiest thing?
Then there's this very summery, patriotic quilt (see below) for those who don't care much for pastels and 30s prints.
This is not a paid announcement, and no actors were involved. I just love the darn magazine.

I'm so going to have to go get that magazine. I've been collecting black and white fabric for a while. Oh...who am I kidding? I've been collecting blue and white, browns, greens, reds, and lots and lots of polka dots! I guess I should just say I collect fabric!

Hi Susan,
I really enjoyed reading your 100 nuggets about you. It is always interesting to see what things people really enjoy and what things that they don't.
I love Fons and Porter and will pick it up the new issue when it comes out on the newstand. I usually enjoy their magazine and have made some of their patterns.
Nice reading list too.
Regards,
Anna

Hi Susan,
I never buy quilt kits because I don't want to make a matchy-matchy quilt like anyone else's. That's just me, but I hope you'll put the lovely fabrics in different places than the instructions tell you to so your quilt will be unique.
Is the new Fons and Porter magazine better than their first one? I loved their TV show but didn't care for the initial incarnation of their magazine (that's just me again). This issue looks delicious so I may have to take a look.
Hugs!

Hello Susan, I have wanted to stop in and see you but since we are on vacation time eludes me everyday. I surly understand why you love the quilt magazine. You love quilting. Big smile. So do I, but I never seem to finish what I have in the works. Sigh. I know a lady who quilts and her home is consumed with fabric and quilting books. She makes the most beautiful quilts.
I want to tell you how much I loved your 100 nuggets. I admire you as a person even more after reading every bit of... more or less, the story of you. A fun read.
We are now on our last week of our extensive vacation. We have had the time of our lives. This last seven days plus will be without computer hookup, so I will be on a bloggy break. I will visit upon our return.
Have a great week and thanks for your email Susan.
Hugs...Jeanne
