Happy First Day of Autumn, everyone!
The weather here is very early-autumny: warm, non-humid days, cool nights. The days are getting shorter, and the light is changing to that beautiful soft fall light. If you look really closely, you can see some color starting to come into the trees. The yellow butterflies are decorating the yards, woods, and roadsides; and (alas!) the ragweed is out. Aaaaachooooo!
I've redecorated Blackberry Creek for fall. This is my very favorite season. Even Sophie has donned her Halloween costume to give the blog an autumnal touch. I think I want to go out and dance under the moonlight or something. Build a bonfire or go on a hayride.
Hope all the Halloween Swap members are busy working on your handmades. A couple of you tell me that you've already completed your projects. I've got my materials and tools laid out on my sewing table, but haven't made my project yet. Today, I'm busy doing laundry and getting caught up on everything that I've let slip while I was away for the weekend. So bye for now.

Welcome back, Susan. I hope you enjoyed your retreat.
The yellow house is looking beautiful. We are enjoying early signs of autumn here, too. And, ragweed, too. Ugh!

Hey Susan!
Can you tell me why Autumn has another name - Fall...while the other seasons only have one name? I'd rather know your explanation than google it!!!
Happy Season.

I love that wreath, and autumn too. One of the joys of being back in New England is enjoying the foliage. Your new background is stellar! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

I like your new fall look. Love the wreath on your door. This is my favorite time of year also. I am reading "The Thirteenth Tale" I am at the part where she is leaving her for 3 days. It is really hard to put down. 2:00 this morning I was up reading it. I just hate that, but you know when you start reading something good a person just cant put it down. I like the way she describes the way a persons eyes look when they are so involved with a good book.

Happy Autumn!!! I'm decorating too, bought some baby pumpkins and Sarah had to steal one for her bedroom shelf(she's such a decorator!). It was our anniversary too so we celebrated with good food and a violent television show, lol.

We are having our Indian Summer here. Very warm days, but the nights are cool. Isn't it glorious to change out your decorations for the new season? I really like your door wreath.
And look at your Sophie...what a show off!
