Cobblers, Cards, and Commendation

Peach 2 My Women of Worship (WOW!) group had another great bake sale yesterday. I made peach cobblers this time. I made six in all: one for us, one for our friends Paul and Karen, and four for the sale. The mayor bought one of them, as did our pastor. I didn't know the people who bought the others.

I have an order for an applesauce cake for next week. Haven't made one in a long time, but I'm looking forward to it.

We found out yesterday that the Farmer's Market will be running through September, so we have five more bake sales to go instead of just one as we had thought. But that just means chances to make more money. We've already made enough for the new kitchen cabinets. They're in. I haven't seen them yet, but those who have say they look great.

Butterfly ATCs 4 I made these butterfly ATCs for another SwapBot ATC swap. I put them in the mail to my swap partners Thursday.

Tropical Storm Fay is paying us a visit this weekend. We woke up to a nice gentle rain, and the forecasters say there's much more to come. I don't care. I love rainy weather as long as there are no tornadoes or anything severe to hurt people. I pray that everyone in Fay's path will weather the storm safely.

We went out to eat last night with Karen and Paul. We had good Mexican grilled shrimp (with enough left over for lunch today). We talked about going to see the new Batman movie this afternoon, but we've decided to make a much needed trip to the hair stylist instead--Vann for a haircut and me for a coloring that I've been putting off for too long. Not as much fun as Batman, but it's gotta be done.

In closing, I want to show you what Anita of Take Joy has honored me and Sophie with.

Iloveyourblog_thumb_thumb Thanks ever so much, Anita. We both appreciate your thoughtfulness, and would like to say that we like your blog too--especially all the animals. I like the goats, myself; but Sophie says the cats are the best. Did you ever know a dog who loves cats? Well, Miss Sophie does.

I'm supposed to pass this award on to some other bloggers. You all know I love all of your blogs, so it's hard to pick just a few. So here's the deal. Look over to the right of the blog page. If your blog is listed there, then I award you this blog award.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

Would you share your peach cobbler recipe? I just love peach cobbler and have yet to find a recipe that makes up that looks as good as yours.

I'm drooling all over my keyboard looking at those peach cobblers. I love those butterfly cards. I think my favorite is the upper right with the blue background.

Congrats on the award! And yeah...I drove through B'ham on my way home from Tuscaloosa today...it was raining all the way until we got past Cullman and then dry as a bone! But, we're suppose to get some of it next week, too!

I don't even LIKE peaches and your cobblers make my mouth water! But OH, BOY! Applesauce cake? If I were there, I would buy them ALL! Yummmmm! You & the WOWs are awesome for doing so much to raise $$ for the kitchen! No good deed goes unnoticed! The ATCs are really pretty, too! Love the way you incorporated orange into each one but in very different ways! I had to smile over the hair color thing because tomorrow I am going to get my hair cut VERY short so the rest of the color will be GONE. I stopped coloring it a year ago & because it's so thick and curly, it hides the gray growing out. I WANT it to go ahead and be gray! NOT looking forward to extra short hair on this basketball sized head, but it's the price I have to pay. Sigh ...

I would love it if you would share your peach cobbler recipe with me. I have a mob of folks coming over for a barbeque on Sunday and it would make the perfect dessert!
