This summer, my little town has started something new. Each Friday afternoon, growers and merchants from all around set up their tents in the street between the First United Methodist Church and the Chamber of Commerce (formerly Aunt Ima's house) and give Leeds residents a chance to purchase fresh produce, honey, and even flowers without leaving town.
Our WOW! (Women of Worship) group decided to set up a bake sale booth this Friday. We made $428 on our first Market Day. We'll continue to do this throughout the summer to raise money to refurbish the kitchen in our fellowship hall.
In preparation for the bake sale, I baked all morning yesterday. I made a sour cream pound cake, a blackberry cobbler, and three loaves of banana nut bread.

I found a Farmer's Market near my house and went there on Saturday. I've been to them in other states, but never here. It was just a little one, but I came home with some of the best peaches I've ever eaten. You know the kind I mean..."over the sink" peaches!
Hey, I'm nominating you for an award, so go check out my blog later!

Great photos! Great dogs...
The cupcake quilt is going to be sweet enough to eat. You are keeping busy!
We had a blackberry bramble fence at our last home. I really miss those berries. They were over an inch long and bursting with goodness. You could have made a pie every day for weeks and still had plenty to share. It was a thorny mess of branches to prune. Not fun.
I haven't tasted this year's cherry tomato crop because the squirrels are eating them green.
Not fair. Sharing is okay, jumping the gun is not.
:D

I'm moving slow these days but still get around to my old friends' blogs from time to time.
