I have a friend who works for a decorator. For weeks now, she has been trying to give me some scraps and samples that the decorator was about to throw away. I kept telling her, nicely, that I wasn't interested because I have so much fabric that I don't really need more.
Finally she wore me down and I told her I'd take it. And am I ever glad I did. It is some of the most beautiful fabric I've ever seen, most of it silk. I've spent all morning sorting it and folding it and organizing it. There's tons of the stuff, and I certainly can't use it all and don't have anyplace to store any of it. I'm giving some to a friend who makes crazy quilts. And I'm going to make jackets and vests from a lot of it.
I bought this jacket pattern over a year ago. I think it will be perfect to make jackets from some of the fabric. I'm going to make one for my friend who gave me the fabric and at least one for me.
Some of the pieces are large enough to make pillows too. And handbags and maybe lamp shades and table runners. As you can probably tell, I'm really excited about this fabric.
My friend wants me to make more banners for the church with some of it too. She thought the butterfly pieces would be beautiful combined with an angel. I think she's right.
Below are photos of some of the most striking pieces of the stash.

Oh what lovely fabric. And I really like that jacket pattern. Those fabrics will make very nice boutique like jackets. Cant wait to see it made up. I think my mother would love one in purple and red, she belongs to the red hatters. I will have to be on the lookout for that pattern. What a nice blessing for the day.

Your jaw must have dropped to your chest when you saw what was in that stash! That is a real treasure trove. Wouldn't a silky crazy quilt be gorgeous? Or a crazy quilt style jacket?
