Yesterday, my quilting bee, The Piecemakers, gathered for our annual Christmas party. We had 100% attendance, all 12 of us, plus Mary S's mama. It has become a tradition to have our party at Sally's house (third from left, back row). Her house is lovely any time of year, but at Christmastime it's magical. Sally is such a great decorator, as well as a very talented quilter.
After a bit of Show 'n' Tell and a spirited game of Dirty Santa, we dug into all the lunchtime goodies that everyone had brought. Here's the menu:
*Mary S's BBQ Beef
(lip-smackin')
*Mary U's husband Walt's Rice and Broccoli Salad (Oh Yum!)
*Mary Grace's Harvest Vegetable Casserole (every bit as good as Red Rooster's)
*My Orange/Pineapple Congealed Salad
(a little runny but tasty)
*Rita's Baked Apple Casserole (I could have eaten it all!)
*Doris's Absolutely Delicious Tossed Salad with Fresh Asparagas
(best dish there)
*Martha's Cranberry Fruit Cake (sweet 'n' tart goodness)
*Cyndi and Gerry's Pecan Tarts and Chocolate Bark (yummy)
*Rolls (big, hot, and delicious)
I probably forgot something, so whatever it was, I'm sure it was good.
I'm so blessed to have such good friends to have fun with. (And we DO have fun!) After yesterday, I don't dare wax too sentimental. Suffice it to say that I love these women with all my heart.
Thought I'd show you some of Sally's wall quilts before signing off, so here they are.
The carpeters are downstairs making all kinds of noise, laying our new carpet. Sophie is is supervising. I'm trying to stay out of the way.
This is the last day to sign up for my Blog Anniversary Giveaway, so be sure to get your name in the pot if you haven't already done so. We'll draw for the prize tomorrow.

We have too much in common! I also belong to a quilting bee made up of 12 women. We call ourselves Blue Moon and we get together once a month. Our Christmas party is this Sunday. Three of our members have moved away, but we still manage to get together with them at least once a year. Thank you for sharing your group photo. Can you share Doris' salad recipe? I'm bringing the salad on Sunday! :-)Gayle

Such a lovely collection of quilts Sally has in her house. I have seen a block of the month of the roosters and they are just great - I love them.
