Here we are, Sophie and me, each of us participating in one of our favorite activities last night. I'm reading and she's chewing her bone--on my feet. Her favorite spot to chew is on the feet of someone she loves. At one point, she dropped the bone on the floor. Instead of getting down to retrieve it, she just started chewing on my toes. That dog!
Phillip and Carrie came in last night from Wyoming. Vann picked them up at the airport at about 9:00. We were all glad to see Phillip (Carrie stopped off at her parents' house down the road, so Sophie and I haven't seen her yet) but I think Sophie was gladdest of all. She had a whining, crying, jumping, running fit.
Amy will be coming in tomorrow. Cait and Kathryn aren't coming again this year, and that makes me sad. I wish everyone could be here. Enough of that. No sadness allowed.
Today I make dog treats. Doggies like Christmas goodies too.

My dog Lady (who passed over the rainbow bridge almost 30 years ago) would go bonkers every time my brother Patrick came home. He lived in Albuquerque and only came back once or twice a year, but the dog was always happy to see him!
I'm glad my dog doesn't chew on my toes. What he does try to do is lick them. My reaction: "Ewww! Shadow! Cut that out!"

I just took my ol' beagle to the kennel as we are leaving this weekend to see my husband's family. He is very happy to be boarding with other beagles. He didn't even see me leave. I still waved goodbye! :-)Gayle

Susan and Sophie! This is the cutest photo of you guys........in a comfy chair, both doing what you love. Thanks for sharing....(what's the book you're into?) I don't want to miss any off your "reading list"; I depend on it for great books!
