Book Talk

41bgjqLDXXL._SL350_

This is the best book I've read all year. An absolute can't-put-downer. I read it in two sittings. I would have read it in one, but I went to sleep about halfway through and had to finish it the next day.

From the very first page, I was hooked.

Near the end, you'll need your trusty box of tissues. But it's worth the tears. I promise.

Note: Typepad won't let me add books to my "Books Read" list at all now. And they still won't give me an answer as to why this is happening and what to do about it. So I'm going to have to find another way to keep a record of books read. Will probably have to be in regular posts.

Thanks for the book title and your enthusiasm! I requested the book, picked it up on Wednesday, and about to start it. :)

Wasn't the verdict yesterday uplifting as a boost for truth and justice?!

Hugs!

Star Spangled Kitty Cup

Julycatcrqp - 1The July kitty cup block is done. Just one more to go.

This past weekend, we celebrated my niece India's birthday. She was actually in Louisville, Kentucky visiting her father on her actual birthday, so we celebrated when she got home. Her mom, my sister Ramey, made baked chicken and sides for lunch, after which we enjoyed dessert of this delicious chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream.

Cake

I had a great Mother's Day. I hope all you did too. Andy came with a bag of goodies, We had spaghetti for lunch and afterward watched two Denzel Washington movies: "Out of Time" and "The Bone Collector."

Tomorrow is book club, and I also have a hair cut appointment and an appointment for my annual medical checkup this week. I also have to go to the post office, the library, and the grocery store at some point. So I'm sure this week is going deplete my spoon drawer.

Your July Kitty block is too cute and you certainly chose the perfect fabrics for it! These blocks will make an adorable quilt.

A belated Happy Birthday to India and that is one scrumptious looking cake!

I had the best Mother's Day with a yummy meal, yummy candy, and the arrival of DS1 and DIL yesterday as they are here to look for a house. Joy!

Hugs!

June Kitty Cup

June Cat

This is block number 10; only two more blocks to go. But I'm still thinking of some way to add the month name to each block.

I've been workingn to get my "Books Read in 2024" list to include links and photos, but so far no luck. I haven't been able to get any help from Typepad. Getting frustrated.

Angela (my longarm quilter) called yesterday and told me she had my quilts ready. So I'm on my way in a bit to pick them up. I'll have lots of binding to do.

Love this kitty block too and this quilt will be utterly charming! Hope it's been a delight to make.

How marelous to get your quilts back and hope you've been busy putting binding on so they are ready for the quilt show.

Z&L are coming Monday to look for a house here!! DH and I have been very busy getting R's home next door ready to house them for a week, then Z will stay on to continue the house hunt. Too tired by the end of these days to read blogs! I have lost a bit of weight, so that's a plus!

Hugs!
